Reunited at last. And as much as I don’t feel comfortable playing right-handed anymore, I can still enjoy some time with Revenge when I’m home. That’s a good feeling! ❤
So, enjoy three videos I made this afternoon with my little brother’s tablet and witness the confusion. I actually still suck pretty bad at playing & singing, but doing it as a right-handed with songs I barely just learnt is harder. Ha ha!
Until next post, keep working hard towards your goals and don’t let frustration or life or people discourage you from making whatever you wish into a reality. ❤
I am going home today and gosh I’m really excited.
I’m really happy to be going home again! It’s only been about six months since I last seen my family and homeland IRL but somehow I was craving it way more than I did after having been away for a whole year and a half! I’m going to see a lot of people I haven’t seen in a while also, like highschool friends, and my lovely lovely cousin whom I haven’t seen since we were kids somehow! I’m really REALLY excited! So many memories to make and a lot of fuel to stock up on!
I’ll be staying up until mid-August. And while I’m there, I’ll get to play some (right-handed… </3) guitar and bit of piano too but I don’t really know how to. So I might be able to record something slightly more interesting to put on my youtube channel and same for #2. I’ll probably hire my little brother as a cameraman or just borrow his tablet to record things. And I’m excited about that too!
And I’m thinking that I might actually get around to finish a song that I started back when I still had Glitch but never got around to finish or maybe even write new ones! I’m just really dying to play some music again so I think that the melodies might just flow out of my mouth and break my fingers. Which is such a good thing! I can’t believe that I went six months without a guitar/uke and am still alive! I really didn’t think it was possible and yet, look at me. Starving for some strings but still breathing! *clap clap clap*
I’m going to be jumping straight off a cliff after that (not literally; don’t worry) but there will be a really pretty and warm net to catch me and so I’ll get to build my wings with a little less pressure! And I’m excited about that too. I actually still have to deal with some paperwork to get everything in order for that next travel while I’m home (which sucks but is for the good cause).
So yeah. Family. Friends. Art. Mountains. MY OCEAN. Rain. Lots of rain. This is just going to be awesome and I really can’t wait!!! But I really should go to bed now as I have to wake up at 5 or something to make sure I have enough time to get ready and check everything before I leave for the train. I’m going to be so tired and such a mess!
While I’m gone for a long long long day and until I can get something better out there, maybe enjoy this 5-day-old good enough cover?…
Cheers!!! I hope I can sleep because I won’t be able to drag that heavy ass suitcase around if I don’t. So many books. What am I?
Until next post, don’t forget to remind those you love how much you love them and how precious they are because you never know (and especially before you step on a plane because sometimes they just fly into another dimension and what the fuck). ❤
Literally losing my mind over here with no guitar and such a hard time dealing with my demons and my personal little hell. Did drew a bit today, and might even be able to finish a painting before next month!! And I thought, hey, let’s try to sing a bit. It doesn’t have to be perfect, at least I’m not letting my voice gather dust like I did for a few months after I moved in this silly place. I actually feel a little less pressure to sing so that’s cool, but it’s still there and I block if I try to go too loud or you know… Ugh. But yeah, keeping it alive!
My little brother said it wasn’t perfect but it didn’t suck either and that it was okay so I could post it. So there it is. Full of mistakes, I know, and as always the video/audio quality is so shit it’s sad but I had fun and I kinda like it!
I love this song. I will do it more justice in another video another day. I can do better. And I will.
Until next post, don’t forget to warm up before doing anything at all not to hurt your precious little bodies! ❤
I haven’t be up to much these past few weeks. Been feeling pretty down. I still tried to push through but it was hard! Still, I managed to work a lot on the next chapter of Uncage the Night, and look, today I got to record two crappy half-assed shit-quality covers!! So I guess that’s something to be happy about! Just kidding! I am really happy about it. I’m happy that I got to sing again after such a long while of dark silence in this room! I still wasn’t free of the pressure of the neighbors and what if I’d bother them, but I still let go a tiny little bit. It felt really great and I hope that even if the quality is overall pretty poop, that you’ll enjoy it too! 🙂
This is such a beautiful song. And it’s funny how, even though I’ve kept on listening to it as I grew up, I find myself needing it just as hard as I did a few years back when the storm got me real down. And so I’ve been listening to it a lot more these past few days and it feels really good. Soooo wish I could learn it on guitar… </3
And this one is one of my favorite LIGHTS song! I mean the whole album Siberia (the acoustic one) just captured my everything. She has an amazing voice and often in the electro-music that she writes, part of that magic dies BUT there’s also another force that emerges there and I’ve learnt to love both her acoustic and electric works. They all have that special thing and well, this is one of my favorite song from this album. The lyrics will explain…
Alright, short post. Not that there’s much more to add anyways. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything music-related on here and boy, does that show how well my life has been going! haha
It felt really great to la la la a bit even if I still had that mental-block that refrains me from giving too much into the music, afraid I’d bother one of my neighbors could really possibly be working any time of the day. And well, it’s always hear, the little mental wall. Sometimes I feel I’m free and I start going for them notes, opening that mouth and just… Swallowing it all back down as the wall punches my forehead. Anyways, it was fun and felt really great considering the week I had. I’m also very tired so I didn’t have as much fun as I could’ve had but hey.
Anyways. Short post. It’s 7AM, I’m gonna see if I can sleep a bit now. I’m a complete trainwreck. ❤
A new video!! This is a song I learned last year to sing it to my best friend. It’s from the Studio Ghibli’s The Cat Returns (It’s about cats if you hadn’t guessed. Check it out, it’s wonderful!). I love everything they do. And so does she. When she saw I got a ukulele she showed me the song and I decided I’d learn it (in spite of my 0 knowledge of Japanese) to surprise her. ❤
Right now, she’s in Madagascar so I thought I could try to learn it once again and get her another surprise! It’s been nearly six month since I’ve become a left-handed player and I definitely feel very confident about all the progress I made in so little time. Proof with this video! 😉
It took me forever to get this right (about 30+ tries! haha). I still made a few mistakes but I’m fine with the result! After the first chorus, I was so focused that my heart raced a bit and I felt myself starting to shake which is why there was a slight pause. This seems to happen a lot when I sing. Sometimes I get so into the music that my heart will race and I’ll start shaking. Not sure what that means but that definitely can be an issue sometimes, so I’ll have to work on it!
I really enjoy watching Jared Dines and Rob Scallon videos on YouTube now and then to get my head off things. And yesterday, a few minutes after talking about shovels with my roommate, I stumbled upon this video so I thought why not check it out? I did and well, it’s really just Rob playing a RATM song with a one string shovel… And it’s amazing! 😀 Well, I don’t really know what else to say apart from: IT’S BADASS! I didn’t know I wanted to play a shovel until now! hehe
Rob didn’t make the instrument himself. It was made by Bob Clagett from I Like to Make Stuff. His channel really is inspirational. He makes a lot of different things, from shelves to picnic tables, to stuffs like digital clocks or arcades! Hell, he even made a video on How to make a secret door/bookcase! I find it really interesting and he just makes everything seem so simple. haha So if you’re into DIY or if you just like watching people making stuff, check him out! 😉
